How to use these tools

A quick walkthrough of both tools, plus a few things that trip people up the first time.

Photo Report Site Plan Saving & sharing

๐Ÿ“„ Photo Report

Upload site photos with notes, and generate a shareable PDF report โ€” cover page, one photo per page with your caption, a repeating header with the site name.

Basic flow

  1. Add photos with + Add photo (one at a time) or + Add multiple (pick several at once from your library).
  2. Write a caption for each โ€” what it shows, camera position, obstructions, whatever's useful later.
  3. Fill in Step 2: site name, surveyor, date, location, notes.
  4. Optional: pick an accent color and/or upload a small logo โ€” both show on the cover page and the accent carries through as a thin header bar on every photo page.
  5. Click Generate PDF. You'll get a link to open/share it, plus an option to download the same pages as a ZIP of images instead.

Save progress & resume later

Click ๐Ÿ’พ Save progress any time โ€” you'll get a short code (like 8EDUFR). Enter that code in the "Have a saved code?" box on any device to pick up exactly where you left off, photos included. No login needed โ€” just don't share the code with anyone you don't want editing that report.

Find an existing report

Click ๐Ÿ” Find existing report and start typing a site name, surveyor, or location โ€” matching reports already generated show up live, with a link to open the PDF.

๐Ÿ’ก The photo picker on mobile now shows your normal camera/photo library choice โ€” no more getting bounced straight into the camera app.

๐Ÿ“ Site Plan

Draw a scaled site plan over an uploaded sketch or a live satellite map โ€” trucks, cameras, tents, cable runs, and text notes, all sized to real-world feet.

Getting a base layer

Placing and editing

Saving, reopening & exporting

Save drawing gives the drawing a short code (like K7PQ2M), shown above the canvas. Type that code into the Drawing code box on any device to reopen it, fully editable, or use the link syncerrors.tv/draw.html?code=โ€ฆ. Saving again updates that same drawing, so one code always opens the latest version.

Save as new copy creates a separate drawing with its own code and leaves the original untouched. It's handy for variations like "Plan A / Plan B" for the same venue.

๐Ÿ” Find existing drawing lists saved drawings, newest first. Type part of a name or code to filter, then click one to open it.

Download SVG/PNG gives you a flattened file with the base image embedded, so it opens correctly outside the browser too.

๐Ÿ’ก On mobile, the canvas appears above the tool list (not buried below it), and dragging works with a real finger-drag, not just a mouse.

๐Ÿ”— Saving & sharing, in general

Both tools work the same way under the hood: nothing needs an account. A save produces either a short code or a link โ€” whoever has it can open and, for drawings, edit it. Treat that code/link like you'd treat a shared document link: fine for a small team, not something to post publicly if the content is sensitive.
